Gordon A. Wells, M.Sc., P.Ag., C.M.C.

Gordon Wells has managed companies involved in international project management, biotechnology and agricultural database management. Mr. Wells has extensive domestic and international project management experience involving agriculture, biotechnology, value added agricultural processing and trade. He has over 25 years experience in transferring agri-food technology to domestic and international clients spanning four continents.

In early 1993, Gordon Wells was appointed President and C.E.O. of CanEd International Inc. In his capacity as President and C.E.O., Mr. Wells provides project management and administration services in the areas of international business development and project management. Mr. Wells has worked on several projects in Central America. Most recently, Mr. Wells managed the provision of technical and training consulting services to the Belize Agricultural Health Authority for the Inter-American Development Bank's Modernization of Agricultural Health Services Project in Belize. Other projects include the development of a preventive medicine in-service training program for veterinarians in Central America and an analysis of the pork industry in Costa Rica. In 1992 he hosted the Minister of Agriculture for El Salvador's trip to Alberta and Saskatchewan; in 1995 he hosted the Guatemala Vice Minister of Agriculture trip to Alberta. CanEd is currently involved in projects in Central America and Ukraine.

Formerly President and C.E.O. of Biotechnica Canada Inc., Mr. Wells has extensive knowledge and expertise in agricultural technology assessment and agricultural value added processing, as well as a background involving commercializing agricultural technology.

As President and C.E.O. of the Agriculture Development Corporation of Saskatchewan, Mr. Wells was responsible for a staff of 45. He managed several CIDA projects, established a countertrade business unit, and managed the day-to-day operations of the company.

Academically, he possesses a B.Sc., in Animal Science/Agricultural Economics from the University of Saskatchewan, and a M.Sc. in Animal Science from the University of Alberta. Mr. Wells is a member of the Canadian Institute of Agrologists, Alberta Institute of Agrologists, and is a Certified Management Consultant.
